when you use pair pressure, we collect the minimum information needed to make the app work:

• account info — your email address and display name when you sign up.
• habit data — the habits you create, check-ins, streaks, and any evidence (photos or text) you attach to check-ins.
• buddy connections — who you've paired with and your shared habit activity.
• push notification tokens — so we can send you reminders and buddy updates (only if you opt in).
• device info — basic device type and OS version for debugging and compatibility.

your data is used to:

• power your habit tracking and streak calculations.
• show your buddies your check-in activity (that's the whole point).
• send push notifications you've opted into.
• improve the app and fix bugs.

we don't sell your data. we don't use it for advertising. we don't share it with third parties except as needed to run the service (hosting, authentication, push notifications).

we use the following services to operate pair pressure:

• clerk — authentication and account management.
• convex — database and backend infrastructure.
• expo — push notification delivery.

each of these services has their own privacy policy. we encourage you to review them.

• you can delete individual habits and their associated data at any time.
• you can leave any buddy pairing whenever you want.
• you can request a full account deletion by contacting us at the email below. we'll remove all your data within 30 days.

your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. we use Convex's managed infrastructure, which provides automatic backups and security monitoring.

pair pressure is not intended for children under 13. we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

we may update this policy from time to time. we'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. continued use of pair pressure after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
